Sports Anchor/Emmy Nominated News Reporter for CBS6 Albany (Oldest TV Station in the World)

Hey there! I’m Sam Israel, a Sports Anchor and Emmy-nominated News Reporter based in Albany, NY. I deliver high-energy sports coverage and impactful news reporting for WRGB/CBS6, the oldest television station in the world. I strive to tell stories that matter, whether capturing the excitement of major sporting events or reporting on news that affects communities across New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

I began my career in Burlington, VT, in January 2022 as a multimedia journalist, quickly expanding into sports coverage and on-air desk duties as a Morning News Anchor. In February 2024, I joined WRGB/CBS6 in Albany as both a Sports Anchor and News Reporter. Reporting in the state capital has sharpened my skills in accountability, storytelling, and live reporting. I pride myself on my versatility, seeing it as a strength that allows me to grow and improve across all aspects of journalism. I also regularly fill in as a News Anchor when needed, blending professionalism, curiosity, and a reporter-first mindset with an approachable, authentic on-air presence. Across TV, digital, and social platforms, my goal is always the same: inform, engage, and connect with viewers in meaningful ways.

A Binghamton University graduate, I began my journalism journey producing multi-platform content across TV, radio, and print, laying the foundation for the work I do today. My unconventional academic background, my double-major in Accounting and Politics, Philosophy, and Law, equip me with unique insight into business, political, and societal stories, further enhancing my versatility as a journalist.
