Hey there! I’m Sam Israel, an Emmy-nominated multimedia journalist and reporter with News 12, covering the Bronx and Brooklyn in the nation’s largest television market. I report on breaking news, public safety, government accountability, and the stories that shape New York City’s neighborhoods, always striving to produce journalism that informs, connects, and makes a difference in the communities I serve.
Before joining News 12 in 2026, I spent two years at WRGB/CBS6 in Albany as a Sports Anchor and News Reporter, where I covered everything from state government and breaking news to major sporting events across New York. Prior to that, I began my career in Burlington, Vermont, as a multimedia journalist before expanding into sports reporting and serving as a Morning News Anchor.
A Binghamton University graduate, I began my journalism journey producing multi-platform content across TV, radio, and print, laying the foundation for the work I do today. My unconventional academic background, my double-major in Accounting and Politics, Philosophy, and Law, equip me with unique insight into business, political, and societal stories, further enhancing my versatility as a journalist.
